On Tuesday we finished our unit on Beethoven and started the new one: "Music & the Mozart Effect".

Homework: Watch this video and write a letter to Beethoven where you explain your feelings about the song, the impact of the images shown and the importance (or not) of including classical music in cartoons.

Can Classical Music Make you Smarter???

This is a video for all of you to watch and think about. For the students in the advanced group it is a good warm-up for a forthcoming unit on "The Mozart Effect" 

 

ADVANCED LEVEL

Hi there,

Yesterday we continued with our unit on "Music & ... Beethoven". We read a short story, difficult vocabulary but moving, right?? We also studied the structure "It + is/was + element to be emphasised + that..." and did some exercises to practise it. I´ll try to convert the listening task to another format and if I don´t work out how to do it I´ll tell you to do it at home.

Hi there,

Yesterday we did a communicative activity to revise the use of the present perfect continuous. We also started our new unit about travelling: reading + structure "How long does it take?"

Homework: 1) Listening "New York Travel". 2) Look for words and expressions connected with travelling on the text.

Hi there,
Yesterday we finally played taboo to practise how to give definitions in English. We also studies how to write a formal e-mail in English and the differences with informal writing. Besides, we started our new unit on clothes.

Homework: 1) Listening "Clothing Styles". 2) Formal e-mail asking for information about a course you are interested in.
